Jhinaoui chairs 7th Ministerial Meeting of Coordination Committee for Afro-Arab Cooperation

Foreign Minister Khemais Jhinaoui chaired, on Monday, the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Coordination Committee for Afro-Arab Cooperation, in the presence of several Arab and African foreign ministers, Arab League Secretary-General

Ahmed Aboul Gheit and President of African Union Commission Moussa Fakih.

The meeting is held as part of Tunisia's participation in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

It focused on preparations for the 5th Arab-African Summit scheduled for November 25 in Saudi Arabia, as well as on the Arab-African Joint Financing Facility, a Foreign Ministry press release Tuesday, reads.

In his address on the occasion, Jhinaoui commended the role of the Arab League and the African Union Commission in developing the Arab-African partnership, calling for concerted efforts to perfect the organisation of the Arab-African Summit, which is aimed at achieving a qualitative leap in the Arab-African partnership relations.

He affirmed Tunisia’s active involvement in the process of Arab-African partnership, thanks to its geographical and civilisational affiliation to these two spaces and the priority it gives to openness on the African Continent.

Jhinaoui also asserted Tunisia's willingness to interact positively with the various programs as part of the Arab-African partnership.
