Canada ready to contribute to success of Francophonie Summit in Djerba

Canada is fully ready to contribute to the success of the Francophonie Summit that will take place in 2021 in Djerba, Canada's Ambassador to Tunisia, Patrice Cousineau said on Tuesday.

The Canadian diplomat, who was received by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti, welcomed the "excellent" level achieved by bilateral cooperation, underscoring his country's willingness to diversify the areas of this partnership.

The meeting focused on issues of mutual interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels,

For his part, the Secretary of State expressed the wish to see Tunisia-Canada cooperation develop further, calling for strengthening the mechanisms of this partnership particularly in the areas of trade and investment.

Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, also called for fostering cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.
