The two ministers agreed on the need to give new impetus to bilateral relations and explore new opportunities for partnership between the two countries.
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the Libyan issue and discuss regional and international issues.
The Egyptian FM said that his country will remain in strong support of Tunisia and a privileged partner in all areas.
For his part, Jerandi highlighted Egypt's role in the Arab and international scene.
The meeting provided an occasion to discuss the latest developments in Libya.
Both Ministers welcomed the appointment of an Interim Executive in this country and voiced the wish to see the efforts made crowned by the organisation of elections before the end of 2021, in accordance with the road map adopted at the Forum of Inter-Libyan Dialogue held in November 2020 in Tunis.
In this connection, emphasis was placed on the role of neighbouring countries in strengthening the political settlement process of the Libyan crisis.
The two ministers insisted on the intensification of coordination and consultation within the framework of the Neighborhood Countries Mechanism, which brings together Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.
The Palestinian question was also on the agenda of the meeting where it was, in particular, a question of defending this just cause in various regional and international authorities.
