Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea sign several co-operation agreements

Tunisia and Equatorial Guinea signed two co-operation agreements and three executive programs on Monday, in the margins of Tunisia-Equatorial Guinea Joint Commission meeting.

The agreements were signed by Foreign Affairs Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui and his Equatorial Guinean counterpart Simeon Oyono Esono Angue.
The agreements are:
- A co-operation agreement in the higher education field
- A co-operation agreement in matters of Handicrafts promotion and development 
- An executive programme in matters of women, family, children and seniors
- An executive programme in matters of cultural co-operation 
- An executive programme in the agriculture field
In a statement to the media at the end of the meeting, Mr. Khemaies Jhinaoui said that the latter had offered the occasion to review the furtherance state of the implementation of the agreements concluded between the two countries on the occasion of the Equatorial Guinean President's visit to Tunisia in February 2018.
"We examined ways to boost bilateral cooperation through notably the setting-up of a follow-up mechanism of the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries," he affirmed.
For his part, Equatorial Guinea's FM pointed out his country's firm commitment to support Tunisia's bid to have a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
In another connection, he indicated that his department had already launched the necessary procedures to "exempt Tunisians from entry visa to Equatorial Guinea with the principle of reciprocity."
The Equatorial Guinean Minister is accompanied by a delegation of 25 senior officials including the Minister of Tourism.
He is on an official visit to Tunisia on April 29-30, at the invitation of Mr. Jhinaoui.
