Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinoaui met Wednesday with a delegation of the British parliamentary group, friends of Tunisia.

The meeting was an occasion in which the Minister reviewed our country's achievements on the path to democratic transition, highlighting its aspiration to help its friends and partners, including Britain, to meet the challenges economic development and security.

In this regard, Mr. Khemaies Jhinaoui called on British businessmen to take advantage of the incentives provided by the Investment Code to consolidate their investments in Tunisia and to give new impetus to the various areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Jhinaoui also stressed the importance of supporting bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education, scientific research and training in order to open new horizons for young people, especially higher education graduates by adapting their training to the needs of the labor market.

British parliamentarians praised the success of the democratic process in Tunisia, and its uniqueness in the region, affirming their determination to develop cooperation in all areas, especially in view of the withdrawal of Britain from the European Union.

This parliamentary group was created last February, at the initiative of the Tunisian Embassy in London. It brings together 50 deputies, representing the eight parties represented in the British parliament. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the need to support the democratic transition in Tunisia.
