Meetings with Tunisian students, researchers, and scientists

On the margins of the participation of Mr. Slim Khalbous, Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the “Education World Forum 2019” and Tunisia – UK Higher Education Commission, the Tunisian Embassy in London in

cooperation with ATUGE-UK organised a meeting with Tunisian researchers and scientists living in the United Kingdom.

 During the meeting held on 22nd January 2019 at the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, in presence of the members of the Tunisian delegation to the 3rd Higher Education Commission, Minister Slim Khalbous gave an overview of the existing mechanisms promoting students and researchers mobility, the funding of research fellowships and the dual supervision of doctoral dissertations as well as other cooperation and mobility mechanisms.

The following Tunisian university professors and scientific researchers took part in this meeting:

  • - Dr. Sahbi Ben Ismail: Imperial College
  • - Dr. Mariam Ben Slimane: London City University
  • - Dr. Zeineb Cox: University of Surrey
  • - Dr. Sofiene Kammoun: Norwich Research Park
  • - Dr. Meziane Lasfar: Cass Business School
  • - Dr. Najet Mahmoudi: Harwell Science and Innovation Campus
  • - Dr. Lotfi Mhamedi: Leeds University
  • - Dr. Rabii Saidi: Lead Data Scientist, Cambridge
  • - Dr. Salah Troudi: University of Exeter
  • - Dr. Mohamed Zaibi: University of Buckingham.

Furthermore, the Embassy organised a meeting with Tunisian students in the UK for Minister Slim Khalbous who discussed with the attendees matters related to their studies in British Universities, Tunisia/ UK bilateral cooperation in the field of student and researchers mobility and the reform of the Tunisian higher education system.
