Jhinaoui on official visit to Switzerland, February 27-28

Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui is paying an official visit to Berne, Switzerland, on February 27-28, at the invitation of Swiss Federal Councillor for Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis.

This visit is part of the second session of the Tunisian-Swiss political consultations and follow-up of the results of the State visit paid on February 16-18, 2016, by the President of the Republic in Bern.
This visit offered the occasion to examine ways to consolidate and develop the various co-operation fields and to discuss a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During this visit, Jhinaoui will give a lecture at the University of Political Science in Bern, on the success of the democratic transition in Tunisia.
A set of meetings were also scheduled, notably, with President of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer, Swiss Federal Councillor for Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis and President of the National Council Marina Carobbio Guscetti.
These talks will focus on ways to boost bilateral co-operation and on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the Libyan issue.
The first session of political consultations was held in Tunisia in November 2016, on the occasion of the visit of former Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter.
