Mr. Jhinaoui to make two-day official visit to Norway starting May 20

Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui is making an official visit to Norway on May 20-21 at the invitation of his Norwegian counterpart Ine Eriksen Soreide.


The visit is part of the first session of the political consultations between the two countries and the follow-up of the outcome of the official visit (2-3 May 2017) to Tunisia by former Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The aim is "further foster the relations of co-operation and partnership between Tunisia and Norway in various fields and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest," added the statement.

Khemaies Jhinaoui will have meetings with the Norwegian Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Executive Director of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise.

The meetings will discuss ways to diversify bilateral cooperation areas between Tunisia and Norway, particularly good governance, renewable energies, agriculture, agriculture, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture.

They will also focus on attracting investment, employment, trade promotion, advancement of women and prospects for co-operation in the fields of environment and diplomatic training.

Mutual support for the bids of Tunisia and Norway to occupy a non-permanent member seat at the Security Council will also be reviewed during these meetings, added the same source.
