Foreign Minister meets parliamentary delegation from Republic of Korea
The vice-speaker of the Korean parliament praised the success of the democratic transition process in Tunisia, expressing his confidence that "the legislative and presidential elections scheduled for October and November 2019 will represent a renewed opportunity to emphasise Tunisia's adherence to the democratic option,”.
He stressed his country’s commitment to stand by Tunisia and support its efforts to develop its economy and meet the aspirations of its people and its keenness to develop various aspects of cooperation, especially in priority areas for Tunisia, according to the same source.
The Korean official also pointed to his country’s interest in investing in Tunisia and expanding economic and trade co-operation between the two countries in light of the promising prospects and the great potentials available in this area.
For his part, Mr. Jhinaoui expressed Tunisia’s commitment to democracy as an irreversible strategic choice and its keenness to promote a climate of rights and freedoms and peaceful transfer of power.
He called on Korean companies and businessmen to invest in Tunisia, particularly in sectors with high added value and benefiting from the incentives provided by the country to foreign investors.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to step up the exchange of visits between senior officials and experts of both countries to explore ways to expand economic and trade co-operation in the mutual interest ad draw on the relations of both countries with their environment and their geographical location," said the same source.
The establishment of a Tunisia-South Korean Chamber of Commerce will be announced at the visit by the Korean parliamentary delegation.
