DEATH OF CAID ESSEBSI: JHINAOUI RECEIVES SEVERAL TELEPHONE CALLS

Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui on Thursday received phone calls from several of his counterparts, representatives of regional and international organizations and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tunis.

They expressed their sincere condolences and their feelings of compassion to the Tunisian people and government following the death of President Béji Caïd Essebsi, the first democratically elected president in Tunisia.
They also hailed his success in leading the country in this delicate phase of its history and defending the values ​​of the Republic, paying tribute to its "consensual" policy that has earned respect and consideration to Tunisia.
They also emphasized the solidity of the Tunisian democratic system and its constitutional institutions, expressing confidence in Tunisia's ability to lead the next stage with loyalty and responsibility.
