Saied-Bachtobji talk: Tunisia's participation in OIF Ministerial Conference on the agenda
International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) held in late October in Monaco.
Sabri Bachtobji said at the end of the meeting that this summit will be an opportunity for Tunisia to raise awareness of the achievements made in terms of democratic freedoms and values and to highlight the wealth of its cultural and linguistic heritage.
The Secretary of State added that he and the President of the Republic had reviewed the main diplomatic events scheduled for the coming period.
Bachtobji conveyed to him the congratulations of the members of the diplomatic corps for the confidence placed in him by the Tunisians, expressing optimism about the promising prospects for Tunisia's external relations and the countries' commitment to support Tunisia, encouraged by the success of the last legislative and presidential elections.
At the end of the work of the 36th Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie (October 30, 31), Armenia, host of the last Francophonie Summit, transferred the presidency of the Conference to Tunisia.
The 18th Summit of the Francophonie will be held on December 12 and 13, 2020 in Tunis under the theme: "Connectivity in diversity: the digital vector of development and solidarity in the French-speaking world".
It coincides with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Agency for Cultural and Artistic Cooperation on March 20, 1970 in Niamey, Niger, which later became the OIF. Leader Bourguiba was one of the founding fathers.
