Organising Committee of 18th Francophonie Summit holds coordination meeting with OIF delegation

A coordination meeting for the 18th Francophonie Summit due in December 2020 in Tunis took place on Thursday, in the presence of Coordinator of the Summit national organising committee Lassaad Bellamine and Special Advisor to the Secretary General of La Francophonie,

in charge of bodies and partnerships Vanessa Lamothe Matignon.

Bellamine reviewed the progress made in the preparations for the 18th Summit that will coincide with the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

88 countries will take part in the Summit, said the Foreign Affairs Department.

Vanessa Lamothe Matignon expressed OIF's commitment to provide all necessary resources for the organising committee and to promote bilateral coordination.

“The Tunis Summit will be an opportunity to discuss the restructuring of the organisation, in order to meet the goals set by the founding fathers,” she said.

The coordination meeting also focused on the preparations for launching the OIF regional office for North Africa in Tunisia, in early 2020.

The 4th coordination meeting of the national organising committee of the 18th Francophonie Summit was held Tuesday, in the presence of representatives of the various ministries and structures concerned.
