Noureddine Erray meets Dutch ambassador in Tunis

Cooperation relations between Tunisia and the Netherlands were discussed at a meeting that Foreign Minister Noureddine Erray had on Thursday with Ambassador of the Netherlands in Tunis Ton Lansink.

During this meeting, they underscored the willingness of the two countries to boost bilateral relations in the various sectors, particularly economy and development

Erray emphasised the support of the Dutch Kingdom to Tunisia in order to strengthen its efforts in priority sectors, such as development in internal regions and youth employment", the same statement reads.

He further stressed "Tunisia's commitment to pursue its stable approach to consolidating the principles of democracy, human rights and building the rule of law and institutions".

For his part, the Dutch diplomat expressed his admiration for "the success of the democratic process in Tunisia, reaffirming his country's willingness to develop opportunities for bilateral partnership in all sectors".

The two officials also reviewed "the efforts of both countries to reduce the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic".

To this end, Erray recalled the initiative of the President of the Republic on stimulating international solidarity in order to deal with the repercussions of the pandemic crisis.

For his part, the ambassador of the Netherlands welcomed the positive results recorded by Tunisia in its fight against COVID-19, affirming his country's support for the Tunisian approach".
