Noureddine Erray receives phone call from British Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa

Minister for Foreign Affairs Noureddine Erray, on Tuesday, received a phone call from British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa James Cleverly.

The discussion focused on cooperation between the two countries and ways to expand it, .

It reviewed the measures taken in the two countries to deal with the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts made to revive the economic and tourist dynamics, taking into account the evolution of the health situation in both countries.

Erray and Cleverly also reviewed the positions of the two countries and their visions on the main international and regional issues of mutual interest, especially the developments in Palestine.

Erray emphasised “the need to boost the efforts of the international community to compel Israel to put an end to its unilateral plans that threaten the solutions presented by both states and undermine the entire peace process.”

On the Libyan issue, both officials stressed the need to “continue supporting efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement, in accordance with international legal resolutions and as part of a Libyan-led political solution that preserves the country’s unity, security and stability.”
