EU ready to strengthen partnership with Tunisia

Secretary of State to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti received Monday in Tunis, European Union Ambassador to Tunisia, Marcus Cornaro.

the European diplomat expressed the Union's determination to further strengthen partnership with Tunisia and to support its efforts to meet the economic, social, security and health challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs welcomed the "excellent" relations binding Tunisia and the European Union, reaffirming Tunisia's willingness to develop this strategic partnership and diversify its areas.

In this context, he stressed the need to promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms towards new sectors capable of boosting exchanges, citing in particular, the economy, scientific research and cultural diplomacy.

Both sides reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming bilateral and multilateral events.

Besides, Cornaro commended the efforts made by Tunisia to relaunch the peace process in Libya by hosting the first Forum of Inter-Libyan Political Dialogue.
