Tunisia-Jordan: Developments on Arab scene focus of Jerandi- Al Sadafi phone talk

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi discussed Sunday by phone with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al Sadafi, developments on the Arab scene, including the Palestinian cause.

The two ministers stressed the need to give impetus to joint Arab action and to devise new, more efficient mechanisms to serve Arab issues and defend them in regional and international authorities.

In this regard, Jerandi recalled the Security Council meeting of January 26, 2021 under the presidency of Tunisia, devoted to the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian cause.

A meeting during which Tunisia pledged to mobilise international efforts to achieve a just settlement of the Palestinian cause and to restore Palestinian law on the basis of international legality and the Arab peace initiative.

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and ways of consolidating them, welcoming the level of coordination and consultation between the two countries.

The Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, who is also Deputy Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressed his country's support for Tunisia at this delicate juncture,

The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab States will take place on February 8 in Cairo.
