Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Secretary-General of Arab ICT

Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui met Thursday in Tunis with Secretary-General of the Arab organisation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Mohamed Ben Omar,

he ministry said in a statement.Ben Omar gave an overview of the activities of the organisation and its action programme for the coming period, commending the support of Tunisia to this organisation since its creation.

He also invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Arab Centre of Innovation for Satellite Navigation (Beidou), created as part of Sino-Arab cooperation.

For his part, Khemaies Jhinaoui reaffirmed Tunisia's full support for the organisation's activities and its will to assemble the best conditions to help it accomplish its missions.

The Arab Organisation of Information and Communication Technologies is a governmental organisation under the Arab States League and works to develop information and communication technologies in Arab countries.

It is also working to establish the necessary mechanisms to support cooperation and complementarity in this area among members of the organisation, to modernise common policies and strategies for sustainable access to technologies and their adaptation to the objectives of the economic development and social development in Arab countries.
