Minister of Foreign Affairs receives British Ambassador in Tripoli

The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaïs Jhinaoui held talks on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, with UK Ambassador to Libya Frank Baker, in the presence of British Ambassador to Tunisia Louise De Sousa on developments the situation in Libya, and the prospects for a way out of the crisis.

The Minister pleaded for the unification of efforts of the international community, to advance the political process in Libya, which represents a regional and international challenge, and to help find a comprehensive consensual political solution to the crisis, in accordance with the UN road, announced in September 2017.

He also referred to Tunisia's efforts to bring the points of view of the Libyan protagonists, as part of the tripartite initiative, closer to Algeria and Egypt.

Baker called for speeding up consultations between the various Libyan actors and working to find a consensual political solution, reiterating his country's support for the Libyan government.
