Generation Equality Forum: Tunisia committed to promoting full gender equality

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi stressed Tunisia's commitment to move forward on the path of full gender equality and promote women's leadership in all areas.

The Minister said that Tunisia will work, as part of the «Alliance leadership of Action Coalition for Technology & Innovation for Gender Equality" to develop a practical action plan for the period 2021-2026 based on four main areas.

It will also work to reduce the digital divide between the two sexes, strengthen women's leadership in science, facilitate access to digital technologies for rural women and fight against cyberbullying.

Tunisia's chairmanship of the alliance reflects the belief in the importance of innovation and digital technologies in promoting gender equality and in addressing the challenges that prevent women and girls from having access to an open and safe digital space for all,

The Generation Equality Forum is a civil society–centered, global gathering for gender equality, convened by UN Women and co-hosted by the governments of Mexico and France.

It Kicked off in Mexico City, Mexico, on March 29–31, 2021 and will culminate in Paris, France, in June 30-July 2, 2021.
