M.Jerandi, Belgium's de Bassompierre discuss means to boost co-operation

Minister of foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi received on Tuesday Belgium's Ambassador to Tunisia Christophe de Bassompierre.

The minister voiced satisfaction at the excellent Tunisian-Belgian relations in the past decade and Belgium's constant support to the democratic transition in Tunisia," a Foreign Ministry press release issued Wednesday reads.

Jerandi further pointed to "the need to continue consultation between both sides so as to foster the relations of friendship and co-operation in various political and economic fields."

He laid emphasis on the importance to make a success of the forthcoming bilateral events and to boost co-operation between both countries, stressing the need to recommend a new vision for co-operation between Tunisia and the European Union, to mitigate the economic and social fall-out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The talk offered the occasion to exchange views on regional matters of mutual interest ahead of Tunisia's presidency of the UN Security Council in January 2021.
