ٍٍVisit to Rutherford Appleton Laboratory

Ambassador Nabil Ben Khedher paid a visit on 28th June 2019 to Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire where he was received by Professor Robert Mc Greevy, Director of the "ISIS Neutron and Muon Source", a world-class particle accelerator facility,

producing beams of neutrons and muons that allow scientists to study the properties of materials at the atomic level.

The facility which is part of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, supports a national and international community of more than 2000 scientists who use neutrons for research in physics, chemistry, materials science, geology, engineering and biology. It is the most productive research centre of its type in the world.

The visit was an opportunity to learn more about the work of the facility and the international collaborations developed with a number of countries and, in particular, to explore areas of possible collaboration with Tunisian scientists and research centres.

The visit and discussion took place in the presence of Dr Najet Mahmoudi, a Tunisian scientist working on the "Sans2d" project at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
