M.Jerandi meets with Minister for North Africa at Commonwealth Office

Relations of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and the UK, particularly in light of the partnership agreement to boost trade, took centre stage as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad M.Othman Jerandi had a talk with Minister for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office James Cleverly.

The talk, which took place recently as part of the G20 Foreign Affairs and Development Ministerial Meetings in Italy, also focused on items on the agenda, mainly ways to establish effective justice in the African continent amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The two ministers also said there is need to speed up the access of worst-hit countries access to vaccines and medical equipment and harness regional and international support,

They also underlined the importance of following up recommendations of the Second Berlin Conference and help the Libyan government of national unity bring the political process to completion and strengthen the factors of stability in this country.

M.Jerandi and Cleverly said they support further talks between the three countries involved in the Grand Renaissance Dam dispute (Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan) in a bid to reach a consensual and lasting solution which guarantees the rights of all sides.

M.Jerandi paid a visit to Italy on June 28-29 where he attended the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS and the Ministerial Meetings of the  G20 Foreign Affairs and Development Ministerial Meetings.
