Tunisia and the rest of the international community celebrate today “United Nations Day”, which marks the 76th Anniversary of the entry into force of the UN founding charter

This Day is being organized under the theme "Building back Together for Peace and Prosperity", with the renewed hope that this guides humanity as a whole to a comprehensive recovery not only from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, but also from all the tragedies throughout the world, so that we can all build back better and consolidate the values of justice and peace in the world, as laid out in the Charter.

On this occasion, Tunisia reaffirms its full commitment to the universal principles and values as stated in the Charter constituting a common standards for relations between nations and peoples.

Our country will continue supporting our valuable Organization to enhance its role in addressing common issues so as to guarantee an effective response to current global challenges and the achievement of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development goals.

The interlinkages between Peace and security, Development, and Human rights, as constituting the three pillars of the work of the United Nations, requires the international community strong commitment to come together, to strengthen international solidarity through a stronger, a more coherent and more effective multilateral system that responds to the needs and aspirations of all peoples.

Just as Tunisia has proved its ability to contribute in a constructive way to crystallizing solutions to different global issues and establishing a new phase of solidarity in international relations embodied by the Security Council's unanimous adoption of Resolution 2532, at the initiative of His Excellency the President of the Republic, our country will spare no effort to achieve our common aspirations for a common better future, and to strengthen The United Nations we want and we need.

In this context, Tunisia reiterates its full commitment to engage effectively and constructively in the implementation of our "Common Agenda", launched by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Tunisia will remain, as it has always been, an active contributor to serving international peace and security and spreading the values of cooperation, solidarity and human rights among all the peoples and nations of the world.
