M.Jerandi meets in Doha with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, on Tuesday, met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Doha.

he meeting followed up on the outcome of President Kais Saied’s visit in November,

The meeting took place on the sidelines of FM’s participation in the consultation meeting of Arab foreign ministers held June 15 in Doha.

The Qatari Minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to contribute to the financing of the Aghlabides medical city project in Kairouan, as well as the agricultural production platform project in Sidi Bouzid.

He emphasised Qatar’s interest in developing its investment in Tunisia.

"Qatar is committed to continue supporting the Tunisian economy and strengthening the development process in Tunisia, "he stressed.

For his part, Jerandi highlighted the importance of bolstering cooperation in employment of Tunisians in Qatar and facilitating the recruitment procedures of the Tunisian workforce, in light of Qatar’s willingness to double its hires needs in the medium term.

He also stressed the importance of the Tunisian-Qatari High Joint Commission meeting and the completion of consultations on draft agreements between the two countries.

The extraordinary session of the Arab League Council held on June 15 in Doha focused on the progress of the issue of the Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia
